Austria

Another few days of breathtaking scenery in the Austrian Tirol region. This year we visited Zillertal, a valley not far from where we were last year in the fall. The weather held up and the only snow we encountered was at very high altitudes, just how we like it! This time we had a pool so we spent every afternoon in the water. Hannes is finally able to swim without water wings. Ralph's mom Maria came with us and it was good to have a grandma close by when the early bird kids woke up around 6 or 6:30. Very un-vacationlike.

wow, what beautiful pictures! what kind of a lens do you have on your camera? My mountains get all stretched out and flat looking with the camera I borrowed here.

I knew that actually, just giving you a hard time. It is a largish Nikon camera with a normal lens, not a tiny digital camera which I haven't had much success with yet. It would be more practical to take along but it just doesn't take great pictures. Ours doesn't anyway.

well ya...the Carpathians are flat and stretched out, but now I'm in real mountain country. So you have a digital SLR maybe. Those are the latest. I was able to pick up a second hand Canon SLR with a zoom lens here for a little of nothing, so I'm anxious to see how those pictures will turn out.
