I am not sure why this picture has a line through it but anyway, that is not the most remarkable thing about the picture, you must agree?

Alinya by Hannes

A few recent shots of Alinya. We talked to Australia yesterday, where her name comes from. There is a family (or several families rather) that we visited in Australia and they live on a station (ranch) called Alinya. They were happy to hear that there was now a little girl by that name. We also found out that they think it has aboriginal roots and there is a well on their property named Alinya, hence the name of the property. This particular well has never gone dry, even in the drought times. Fair dinkum! Must get this girl to Oz some day. We slept out on the terrace upstairs last night. It was one of those absolutely calm, quiet beautiful summer nights. Morning light was celebrated with a cup of tea for Ralph and hot chocolate with whipped cream for the boys. Alinya had hers plain.

We had our pre preps trimming day here yesterday and now everything looks groomed and beautiful. There are 4 boys in addition to our 3 and we also had Kim and her kids here. It was a fun, productive day as always! This week marks our 4th year here. The crowning event was a ride in the 2CV..full of boys hollering and screaming.

Weekend in Lenk

We spent a long weekend in Lenk in a rented apartment in this chalet. We had the middle floor, the one with the tiny balcony on the right side. It was perfect for a few days stay and we did a lot of fun things as well as just relaxing and doing nothing. I think there is a fingerprint on the camera lens, hence the sort of hazy looking pix. It was Alinya's first time to leave our house for an overnighter and she did fine. She even bounced her way down half of a mountain side in the stroller without sustaining a concussion.

Looking down on Lenk from the gondola.
